Day – 01             Lucknow / Kochi (Cochin)             By Air
 

0600 hrs Morning transfer from hotel to airport to board the flight for Kochi

Depart Lucknow by Jet Lite flight S2 145 / 6138 (Dep. 0735 hrs / Arr. 1530hrs) with a stopover at Delhi.

Arrive Cochin & check-in at hotel Casino (First class) / hotel Abad Plaza (Backpack)

Day – 02             Kochi / Kumarakom             By Road

0900 hrs Tour around Cochin. The Chinese Fishing Nets (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here.

Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town - The synagogue, built in 1568, is magnificently decorated by Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Giant scrolls of the Old Testament can be found here. It is located near the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry. Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace) - The Dutch Palace was originally built by the Portuguese. Later, in 17th century, the Dutch modified it and presented it to the Raja of Kochi. Coronation of many Rajas of Kochi were held here. The palace has a fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from the Hindu epics Mahabharatha and Ramayana.

St. Francis Church is the oldest church built by European in India. On his 3rd visit to Kerala, Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese trader who reached India from Europe by sea, fell ill and died in Kochi. He was buried in the St. Francis Church. Later his remains were taken back to Portugal. In spite of that the exact place where he was buried has been marked out inside the church.

Enjoy a scenic drive from Cochin to Kumarakom in the afternoon (80 kms / 2 hours)

The charming emerald peninsula jutting into the ever-effervescent Vembanad Lake takes you into the heart of the scenic lake where you'll come across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats and canoes.

Day – 03             Kumarakom
 

Breakfast at hotel Enjoy your houseboat day cruise with lunch. Cruise starts at 1230 hrs and ends at 1630 hrs. Kettuvalloms or Houseboats (Riceboats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, gradually the Kettuvalloms went off the scene. Now these kettuvalloms are back again as a major tourist attraction. A ride on a Kettuvallom is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters.

Mumbai , the capital city of Maharashtra State, formerly known as Bombay lies in the southwestern part of India. In 17th century Mumbai was given by Portuguese as dowry to Charles II of England when he married Catherine. The group of seven islands was leased to the East India Company. Today it is a commercial capital, industrial powerhouse, busiest port and a fashion capital and has the world’s biggest textile market. Mumbai is the hub of Indian film industry, which has played a pivoted role in the development of cinematography. "Bollywood", as it is called, produces the second most number of pictures in the world every year, next only to Hollywood, U.S.A. Mumbai claims to be the world's largest production centre for films.

Day – 06             Mumbai

0800 hrs Morning excursion to Elephanta caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site ,known in ancient times as Gharapuri. The present name Elephanta, was given by 17th century Pottugese explorers, after seeing a monolithic basalt sculpture of an elephant found here near the entrance. . This island is a popular tourist destination for a day trip because of the island's cave temples , the Elephanta Caves, that have been carved out of rock. The island is easily accessible by ferry from Mumbai, being about 10 km from the south east coast of the island city. Boats leave daily from the Gateway of India, taking about an hour each way for the journey subject to the weather conditions and the tide on the sea.

1400 hrs Afternoon visiting / viewing - Gate Way of India - Mumbai's most famous landmark, The Gateway of India, is situated at Apollo Bunder. It was designed by George Wikket. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911.

The Prince of Wales Museum This museum stands not too far from the Gateway of India. It has a priceless collection of art, sculpture, china and other antics. Carefully preserved, this mid-Victorian Gothic style building built in 1904 with beautiful gardens surrounding it, is worth visiting in Mumbai.
